Based on data concerning the condition of Poland’s economy in April 2010, as well as taking into account the demand for KUKE’s services concerning export insurance, we estimate that Polish exports in April 2010 amounted to EUR 9.74 billion. Therefore, Polish exports were 7.5% lower than in March 2010, and 21.5% higher than in April 2009. Expressed in national currency Poland’s exports stood at PLN 37.75 billion, which was a 7.9% fall on March 2010, and a 6.6% rise on April 2009. The drop in exports in relation to March was a result of seasonal factors and does not diverge size wise from those observed in previous years.
We expect that from April 2010 to June 2010 Polish exports counted in euro will be 17.1% higher than in the same period last year, and will rise 5.3% when expressed in the Polish national currency. The total predicted rise in exports for 2010 will stand at 13% when counted in euro, and 4% when expressed in the Polish national currency.
